Long Tall Sally is a clothing and shoe brand for tall women 5?8? and over.
The first store was opened in 1976 on Chiltern Street in the West End of London. As of 2014 there are 10 stores in UK, five in the US, seven in Canada, and five in Germany. The company also sends out catalogues and runs an ecommerce website.
In 2008 the company started selling in North America through catalogue and web marketing, and in 2009 acquired the Canadian assets and trade of Tall Girl, including nine stores across Canada and the United States. Since then the company has also taken over German tall business Long Fashion, US retailer Long Elegant Legs and US footwear business Bare Foot Tess. The range features brands such as NYDJ, Silver, Hush Puppies, Clarks, Nine West, Ruby Rocks, Karl Lagerfeld Paris among others.
The head office is based in Camperdown Street, London. The business is headed up by Andrew Shapin as CEO, supported by a management team of executive directors and heads of department (Cathy Carrington Birch, Nick Shrubshole, Alison Doherty, Sian Field, Lara Bonney, Natalie Devereux, Ciaran McCellen, Camilla Treharne). The business was purchased by Equistone in August 2016 and now forms part of the Tristyle group based in Germany. It was previously backed by Amery Capital, owned by Michael and Maurice Bennett and Maurice Helfgott.
In early 2018, it was announced that all physical Long Tall Sally stores - with the exception of the London, UK location - will be closing in March 2019.
